This pair of salad servers was a bespoke order; the client wanted a pair of extra large utensils in walnut with knife carving texture. We wanted these to look like the large fork and spoon carvings in traditional Filipino homes which represent prosperity and hopes for full bellies. The texture on these is created by the carving knife used and minimal sanding work is needed afterwards due to the sharpness of the blade.

Sandukin means ‘to scoop or ladle something’ in Tagalog.
